Apfelgrund

Apfelgrund is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Neusiedl. The grapes are strongly influenced by the microclimate of Lake Neusiedl and therefore reach maximum ripeness.

Gabarinza

Gabarinza is a southwest slope rising in two waves (Long and Short Gabarinza) to the Parndorfer Platte.
The name probably comes from the right to clear part of the community forest around Gols and use it for winegrowing. This “gift” and the tearing down of the trees, the “crack”, have merged to form the name “Gabarinza”.
The Gabarinza (approx. 23 hectares) receives optimal sunlight thanks to its slope orientation and steep incline. Due to the more direct exposure, the vines produce a higher photosynthetic output and the soil warms up more.
Wines from this vineyard are characterized by opulence and depth. At Gabarinza you can find, for example, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Merlot and St. Laurent.

Hochreith

Hochreith is located between Ungerberg and Altenberg, the inner part facing southeast and the outer part facing southwest.
Located on the municipal border of Gols and is a good vineyard for wines with fruitiness and finesse. Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Welschriesling are the most important varieties on this slightly hilly site.

Neuberg

Neuberg is a gentle southwest slope. Due to the expansion of the wine-growing area in the Middle Ages, this location was planted with vines as an extension of the Altenberg.

Gentle hills determine the appearance of the Neuberg vineyard (approx. 14 hectares). The pigeons from the vineyards planted here produce wines with melting and charm. Pinot Blanc, Neuburger, Chardonnay, Zweigelt and St. Laurent are particularly suitable for this location.

Salzberg

Salzberg is a southwest slope on the edge of the Parndorfer Platte.
Salzberg refers to vineyards that grow on “salty” ground, i.e. H. precious and good reason. A humorous anecdote also explains the name as a transcription error in old property lists.
It is said that “Salzberg” was accidentally entered instead of the original “Satzberg” by forgetting the small line at the “t”.
The Salzberg is considered one of the best wine-growing locations in Gols (approx. 32 hectares). With its long, steep slope, it promotes tire development and enables the production of high-quality grape material. This vineyard is characterized by powerful, full-bodied wines with ripe fruit aromas. The varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Merlot are in the foreground.

Our recommendation

Kellern, Edelgrund, Heide, Fürstliches Prädium, Hofweingärten

Kellern, Edelgrund, Heide, Fürstliches Prädium and Hofweingärten on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, part of the large Heideboden vineyard. Here you often find humus-rich sandy soils, some of which are cold. In general, one can say that the heather soil produces fruity red wines and white wines with medium tannins.
